Chartered in the 1990s as a de novo bank, Harold Callais and family purchased a controlling interest in United Community Bancshares. United Community Bancshares is an FDIC insured, state-chartered commercial bank offering depository, consumer, and commercial loan products, specializing in Commercial and Residential Real Estate development serving the Greater Baton Rouge market.
In 2014, United Community Bancorp merged with the larger Community Bancorp, also owned by the Callais Family. Today, United Community Bank operates 1- branches across southern LA with 600m in assets.
