Roddie Matherne is CEO of Pelican Waste and Debris, LLC and brings over 40 years of waste collection industry. Matherne operates Pelican Waste and Debris which was launched in 2013 and now operates in Louisiana and Mississippi with over 200 employees servicing businesses and municipalities across the gulf coast. Pelican Waste was the Inc5000’s 2018 #1 fastest growing company by revenue growth in Louisiana and 2019 #3 fastest growing company in Louisiana. Pelican waste was also the #1 fastest growing waste collection company during these years.
Matherne started working with waste collection companies out of high school, progressing from working as a hopper on the back of a garbage truck, driver, route supervisor, operations manager, safety manager, and later general manager where he helped grow SWDI, LLC a former Callais waste collection company from $14 million in revenue to $60 million in revenue at the time of the acquisition of IESI, Inc. Afterward, he worked with Progressive Waste as a Municipal Marketing Manager and eventually launched Pelican Waste. Matherne is a member of the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, Lafourche Chamber, and the South Central Industrial Association and lives in Houma, LA.
